V2 Tripwire Mine Conversion Kit

While the SK550 is out for user testing (more about that here), we decided to go back and implement some changes from the conversion kit's user testing and feedback cycle. We're thrilled to release the improved V2 Tripwire Mine Conversion Kit!

Here is a summary of the feedback we got:

Pros:

Great Camouflage: The mine’s design and colors (brown and green) make it easily concealable in natural environments, blending well with leaves and ground cover. Players found the green tripwire nearly invisible from a walking position, adding a realistic threat to the gameplay.

Durability and Recovery: The mine is robust, with most parts easily recoverable after deployment. The testers appreciated that the components were resilient and could be reused, enhancing the value and functionality in game settings.

Simple Setup and Usability: The mine was straightforward to deploy, and the line could be rolled up on a stick for easy storage and placement. This approach adds a level of convenience and can also blend into the surroundings as camouflage.

Enjoyable Gameplay Impact: Overall, users had a positive experience, finding the mine simple to operate and effective in gameplay, making it a fun addition to their game modes.

Cons/Suggestions for Improvement:

Collar Attachment: The collar piece was occasionally difficult to locate after triggering. Attaching it to the mine with fishing line could prevent it from getting lost and streamline recovery.

Replacement Parts Needed: Users suggested including additional parts, such as extra lines, brackets, collars, and even a small stick or reel, to make the mine more practical and easier to maintain over multiple uses.

Potential for Stronger Spring Power: Players mentioned that enhancing the spring's power could improve its effectiveness, making it a possible area for refinement.

After this feedback, the new version includes a notched cover that lets you tether the clasp directly to the cover, making it easier to recover and redeploy. The completely redesigned base, is smaller and enhances portability. The base also reuses the grenade’s original fill port cover, making loading much easier. Additionally, we've included an extra length of tripwire, trigger clip, and three metal stakes to provide solid ground stability for any terrain.

Thanks to feedback from our community, this kit now offers the perfect balance of durability, ease of use, and performance. The V2 transforms your T238 impact grenade into an omni-directional tripwire mine with an impressive 15-foot BB spread in all directions – perfect for controlling key areas in airsoft, Nerf, or gellyball matches. Fully 3D-printed in-house with American-made filament, it’s ready to deliver consistent, high-quality results.
